Children/Youth activities during the service
St John's aims to extend a warm welcome to everyone from 0 to 90+ ! We are delighted to welcome children and young people and would normally be able to offer a variety of groups for them. However, COVID-19 means there are many restrictions in place so we are doing what we can while following the rules.
So children are very welcome to come to services, but you will need to bring your own activities and small toys to keep them settled as the colouring and children's areas have been removed and there are no children's groups.
We have an All Age/Outdoor service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month which is for all to attend, but especially families. You need to bring chairs/picnic blankets; a pencil case and are welcome to bring flask/drinks/snacks (but no sharing please). If the weather is bad we will move inside the church so please bring your masks for 11 year olds upwards.
We also have Sunday Munch at 9.30am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. This is for children in Year 5 to Year 10. The session will take place outdoors, unless raining when it will need to move indoors. Your children will need to bring with them; a pencil case and note book, their own drink / snacks (please no sharing) and a face mask for those aged 11 and above, these will not be required to be worn during Sunday Munch, but will be required when arriving / departing and in the Church itself. We aim to help children explore what it means to live a Christian life and encourage discussion about topics that affect young people.
